The one ia congestiɔn of the venous, the other is an excite-

ment of the arterial circulation; the one bearing many of the

symptoms of Cholera, the other of Phrenitis or coup de soleil:

the one is sthenic, the other of an asthenic character. With

regard to the organ or organa, whoas functions are more immedi-

ately derangsa in these favors, of as it is generally called

the proximate cause, there is room for sɔme difference of

opinion. Some refer it to a latent inflammation in the mac ɔus

congested state of the liver, and others again to the braid,

and no doubt all of these opiniona may be in some degree cor-

reat. In congestive fever I believe, the proximate cause is,

in a great measura the want of balance in the adreniation:

tas blood being thrown in on the large Vosuais, overloading

tas portal cirétation, and oppressing the vital organs such

as the heart, lungs and brain and preventing them from carrying

on the functions of life. Also I believe the bioɔd becomes

deoxidized am overcharged with carbonic acid from the impure

air in whian tae uissase is contracted, hence aoting aa a

Poison on the nervous system.
